Surrounded by love and family, Robert Gordon Irwin passed away peacefully in Saratoga Springs, New York on Sunday June 8, 2014 at the age of 73.

Robert was the devoted husband of Peggy (Carey) Irwin; loving father to his three children, Ron Irwin and wife, Carrie, Lori (Irwin) Coll and husband Mark, and Cathy (Irwin) Nolan and her husband, Rick. He was a much loved grandfather to Lindsy & Kali, Ryan & Robin, Courtney, Mason & Noah, Alexa, Ericka & Ryann, and great granddaughter, Zoey. He also leaves behind his sister Carol, and his brother Ron and their families. Also his many friends that he made along the way.

Bob had a long career in transit bus sales. When he retired he drove school buses and also worked for the Saratoga North Creek railway as a ticket agent.

Dad’s love of boating enriched our lives and the memories of him as our captain will be cherished forever. May he always have the warmth of the sun on his face, calm seas and the wind at his back.

Bob also leaves behind his beloved schnauzers, Jake & Jack. Dad loved his dogs and walking with them at the beautiful Saratoga Springs State Park was one of his favourite things. On June 8th, he was welcomed home by Riley, Jodi & Whiskey.

The family will gather for a private celebration of Bob’s life at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on Friday June 27th at 3 p.m..
A family reception will take place at 57 & 59 Agincourt Gardens, just a short walk from the home that Mom & Dad built over 50 years ago.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PAWS United Dog Rescue http://paws-united.webs.com/
Condolences for the family may be offered online. Please, help save a dog just as our Dad did. Flowers are not necessary.
