<div itemprop="description">The family of John Kaichiro Nagata, age 97, wishes to announce the passing of this proud and kind curmudgeon who will always be remembered through funny and outrageous stories. In his 69th year of marriage to his beloved Mary Kazuko (nee Mikado). Sadly missed by his children Diane Snarr, Kathy Weber (Don), Ruth Skinner (Kirk), and John Jr. (Lois). Fun times not to be forgotten by grandchildren Tracy (Brent Brownlee) and Michael Snarr; Michael and Tani Weber; Daniel, Laura (Keenan Cook), Sarah, and Paul Skinner; Brian and Brent Nagata; and great-grandchildren Taylor and Dylan McGregor and Avery and Brendan Brownlee. Predeceased by his parents Kensaburo and Ura Nagata and his sisters Atsuko and Takako. He is survived by his sister Yuriko Tsuji, many nieces and nephews, and is remembered by all friends and acquaintances who were touched by his sense of humour and mischievous grin.<br><br>Many thanks to the staff at University Hospital who made our father’s last days so comfortable and were so obliging to family wishes. <br><br>We are grateful to the CCAC medical team who have provided excellent and caring service since February, often on a daily basis. Particular thanks to Jeff Moraal for his exceptional nursing care and to Dave Benson who provided kind respite to our mother and made a connection with our father that he looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed. We also appreciate so much Jeff Robb and the staff at Turner Drugs for the kindness and compassion shown to our father for so many years.<br><br>Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00-9:00pm at Forest lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas St. E. (at Wavell). A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, September 2, 2016 at 11:00am in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
