<div itemprop="description">After a long and courageous fight with Parkinson's disease, Frank passed away on November 2nd, one day before his 80th birthday. Beloved husband of Hilda, to whom he was married for just over 52 years. Much loved Dad of Steven (Viktoriya) Smeltzer and Sandra (Ian Rae) Smeltzer. Frank was so proud of all of their accomplishments. Loved Grandpa to four beautiful grandchildren: Sofya and Milanya Smeltzer, and Amelia and Zack Smeltzer-Rae. Predeceased by his parents, Frank A. Smeltzer and Mabel E. Grundy. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, John (Sharon) van Abbema, and sisters-in-law, Marilyn (late Kelley) Morrison, and Gayle (Rod) Cappon. Frank worked for the Collip Medical Research Lab (UWO), Agriculture Canada, and the Sisters of St. Joseph. He was a model railroader and private pilot, and belonged to a number of organizations including the RCAFA 427 Wing London. Frank loved travelling, meeting new people, and was always up for an adventure. He enjoyed good food, telling stories, and spending time with his family. A special thank you to Dr. M. Jog and to the staff at Chelsey Park Long-Term Care Facility for their kindness and support. A celebration of life will be held by the family on Saturday, November 5th, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London.
