<div itemprop="description">STEPHENS, Shirley C. (Cowper) in her 86th year went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2016 in London, Ontario. <br>Shirley was predeceased by husband Ken Stephens and will be lovingly remembered by children Diane (John) Bosschaert, Bruce (Cathy) Campbell and Daniel (Susan) Campbell; Grandchildren Deanna, Darlene, Darryl, Shirley, Susan, Candice, Dwayne, David, Donald, Andrew and Derek; great-Grandchildren Gregory, George, Kristina, Ali, Adam, Braiden, Bailey, Maximus, Brooke and Blake and great-great-Grandchild Xavier. <br> <br>Shirley was one of seven children and will be missed dearly by siblings Donna, William and Robert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Norman, Carol and Dorothy. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends that loved her. <br> <br>Daughter of the late Eileen and Gavin, Shirley was born on September 24, 1930 in Port Colborne, Ontario, and started out as a Bell Switchboard Operator. Shirley lived most of her life in London, working at Eaton’s Department Store for over 35 years. After retirement, she spent years volunteering at the Victorias Hospital Foundation. Shirley loved to travel, crochet and garden and was an avid curling and Toronto Blue Jays fan. She enjoyed summers at her cottage on Stokes Bay with Ken. Shirley was a dedicated Soldier in the Salvation Army. <br> <br>Visitation to be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street E. (at Wavell), London, Ontario. Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Westminster Park Community Church of the Salvation Army, 1190 Southdale Rd E, London, Ontario. Interment will take place September 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery. <br> <br>A special thank you to the staff at the Chartwell Royalcliffe Retirement Residence. <br> <br>Donations if desired can be made in Shirley’s name to the Salvation Army. <br></div>
