<div itemprop="description">Of London and Old Woman’s River. Died comfortably in her 87th year at Parkwood Hospital May 18, 2016. Eldest daughter of the late C. Mackey and Annie (McClary) Gray. Much loved and admired mother of Anne Repath and Carling (Alice) Beverly. Proud Grandma of Cory Repath (Brooke Kennedy), Janna (Brad) Varty, Dan (Naomi) Beverly and Kathleen Beverly (Fraser Walker). Great Grandma to Alyssa Varty, Hayden Varty and Sierra Beverly. Survived by her sisters Audrey (Late Don) Small, Norma (Late Bob) Henry and Shirley (Late Ron) Livingston. She never stopped learning, trying new things, seeing new places and keeping up with the current events of the world. An educator by profession she taught with the London Public School Board for 32 years retiring in 1989. During this time she was a primary classroom teacher, remedial reading teacher and learning resource consultant assisting children and teachers fulfill their potential. Retirement provided the time to take up water colour painting leaving behind scenes of the Bruce and the flowers she loved. She worked on the London Township and Delaware Westminster Township history books preserving both the local and family heritage. She experimented in her “Science Lab” as she called the kitchen until recent months. Nurturing her flowers and plants in the house, garden and at the cottage were a source of enjoyment for her. Her quiet determined, resourceful, independent, nature has provided a positive role model for those she touched. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. At Jean's request, please consider memorial donations to The Thames Valley Education Foundation “Caring Fund”, (donations may be made online) in lieu of flowers.</div>
